Hey folks!
I’m really excited to announce that I got an actually decent video camera that we can now use for SASHA events. Expect lots more video coverage of our meetings/talks, tabling events, and other stuff in the future!
Here are two fun videos to get you started. The first is a talk by Alex Papulis, one of our members, about Sam Harris’s newest book, “Free Will,” from our last weekly meeting. The second video is some outdoor fun with street preachers on the Mizzou campus, Brother Jed among them. Enjoy!
For now we are using my own personal YouTube channel, but soon we will have a SASHA channel set up. You can subscribe to mine if you’d like, but FYI that is my personal channel, not the official SASHA channel, which is coming soon.

Second video:
Until next time!

Alex , glad i was there . very succint and insightful presentation . i think that you hit the nail on the head that in the last analysis Harris cannot prove his fundamental premise , therefore leaving his house of cards to fall. This happened to Skinner and Calvin in their perspective feilds. Harris could have covered his butt by saying ”i think that …. instead of coming off as this is an absolute.
its like when someone writes a history of something or somewhere like ”A history of Scotland ”, they have covered their butt with ”A” . but when they say ”The history of Scotland ” , the ”THE” gets them into trouble when there is just one point that cannot be provable . Good luck with your Kierkegaard reading .
Thanks, Rocket. I’ve written up a piece laying out the argument, and hopefully it’ll be up as a post in the next few days. As for Harris, it’s not simply that he can’t prove his fundamental premise. Rather, given the premise, he does not hold it (or any other belief) for a reason. It’s just the belief that nature gave to him.
hahaha , that reminds me of something G.K.Chesterton said about the hard core reductionist…”if thine head offend thee , cut it off”.
